I’m thrilled to announce I’m pursuing my passion as a courtroom artist at the Bendigo Law Courts! As Major Mary-Ann Martinek, a Bendigo-based artist, poet, and veteran advocate, I’m dedicated to capturing moments where justice, humanity, and truth converge. Through rapid, respectful sketches, I aim to document the emotional weight and resilience of courtroom stories, just as my poetry collection Remember the Horses reflects courage and lived experiences.

My military service and advocacy for veterans inspire my art, blending themes of perseverance and silent strength. I’ve applied to sketch at Bendigo Law Courts, adhering to strict ethical guidelines, with hopes to collaborate with local media like the Bendigo Advertiser. This journey is about honoring our community’s stories through art and words.
